Residual Data and Disk Stenography for Computer Hard-Drives

Andrew Blyth

Computer Forensics is built upon the ability of an examiner to
recover data from digital media. However this process is built upon an
assumption. The assumption is that computer media do not lie. In this talk I
will explore a) the level to which residual data can be found on second hand
computer hard-drives, and b) can a computer hard-drive be made to lie?
